Facebook Is On Its Way To Become A Nation - Sinha Santos, Founder OiX.Global

If Facebook wants to become a nation, they are on the right track. What if they purchased an island from a poverty-stricken Caribbean country and established an independent nation? They have the resources to make it happen. But, they don't need to. Libra is taking them to a place from where they could become the next United Nations (with no real legal power, but with financial and social influence over most of the civilized world).
Libra, if marketed wisely, could become the currency of the internet. The promoters already include eBay and Facebook, both with online shopping features and with a large user base. However, let me go through this one idea at a time.
Libra has the support of payment gateway providers like Mastercard, PayPal, PayU, Stripe, and Visa. These companies are looking to reduce the cost of remittance across borders, and even within a country. Libra has a captive user base of over 2 billion people with Facebook, WhatsApp, and eBay combined.
They are not just trying to come up with a simple crypto asset - they are looking at a possible reinvention of the global financial system.
Although they have around 30 members at present, they are looking at approximately 100 members in the Libra Association by the target launch in the first half of 2020. This might mean even companies like Amazon and Netflix or Verizon buying into the currency. What happens then? Will they have enough influence over governments to push their agenda through?
The idea of having the world currency controlled by profit-seeking businesses (yes, I know Libra Foundation is a non-profit body) is scary. Even scarier is a Facebook with a population of 2 Billion, its own currency, and its own laws about what can be seen by the citizen and what it can't.
Some say that China will be the country to be reckoned with in the latter half of this century - what if it is Facebook and not China?
