Stop working for others and start working for yourself - with Blockchain - Sinha Santos, founder OiX.Global

In this new age economy, data is the biggest asset a company can own. If you think that Facebook is a half-trillion-dollar company because it has millions of users, think twice. Facebook is what it is because of the data being generated by those millions of users.
Blockchain might be the nemesis of Facebook, only if it solves the problem of scalability and speed. It is time that millions of people around the world stopped working, unknowingly, for Facebook and started working for themselves.
To that end, we are working on a new-age social media where you get paid for your work and your opinion. We ran a pilot of the project in 2016, and since then we have been working on getting the kinks out of the system. We are hopeful for a full-scale launch in 2020, but the pilot might be coming out in 2019. It is a collaborative effort with another visionary company, and I will spill the beans on this blog in days to come.
The big idea is a social media platform that is a place to connect not just with your friends and family but also with potential employers. Do you know that the feedback you give on Amazon for a product you buy has real monetary value? It is a free promotion for a company. Why free promotion, when you can be paid with loyalty points?
Now, imagine a social media where you control your data, and you give permission to sell a part of that data and earn through it. You control what information goes out. You get paid by the advertisers and data analytics companies, not Facebook. This is what our vision is.
There were two parts of the puzzle - one was data security, and the other a means to transparently pass the benefits forward. We have worked on it and tested it time and again to ensure that it is secure and robust. So, the announcement is around the corner. Stay Tuned.
